If you’re looking for how to clean Venetian blinds, then you’ve come to the right place. Here we have our top three tips for getting dust and grime off those aluminium Venetian blinds so they can look their best in no time.
Dusting Venetian Blinds
This may sound a little silly but using a sock as a duster works! If there’s just a build-up of fluff on the slats, you can wipe it away quite easily. Now you don’t necessarily need to use a sock, you can use cotton gloves instead… But this way is just that little bit easier, not to mention a little bit more fun.
Pop those socks on your hands, tilt the slats to a fully closed position and simply wipe across them. You’re better off starting in the centre and going to either side to ensure that the dust doesn’t get picked up and dropped off further along the slat, then you just need to tilt the slats the opposite way around and repeat.
Removing Marks From Venetian Blinds
Once again, our secret weapon makes an appearance, this time ready to clean Venetian blinds! Biodegradable baby wipes can be a great way to remove any marks from the slats themselves and you can pair them up with a duster for an extremely quick and easy clean.
Cleaning Venetian Blinds
The best way to clean smaller and more dirty blinds is by putting them in the bath.
Make sure that the blind is completely immersed in warm, soapy water and leave it to soak for about half an hour before giving it a gentle scrub with a brush. Once you’ve let the water run down the drain, use your shower head (or a bowl of clean water) to rinse off any remaining suds and then pat the blind as dry as possible before rehanging it.
